Discover Egypt beyond the classic sightseeing routes on a 13-day journey that combines ancient culture, Mediterranean scenery, remote oases and remarkable desert landscapes. Beginning and ending in Cairo, this varied itinerary travels through Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh, Siwa Oasis, Fayoum and the White Desert.
Your journey starts with the essential highlights of Cairo and Giza. Stand before the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, encounter the Great Sphinx and explore the Grand Egyptian Museum. In Old Cairo, walk along historic Al-Muizz Street, visit the Citadel of Saladin and experience the atmosphere of Khan El Khalili Bazaar.
The route then continues north through Wadi El Natrun, one of Egypt’s historic monastic regions, before reaching Alexandria. The city combines Mediterranean character with Egyptian and Greco-Roman heritage. Travelling west along the coast, you pass through Marsa Matrouh before entering the landscapes of Siwa Oasis.
In Siwa, desert scenery, local traditions and a sunset at Fitnas Lake create a peaceful oasis experience. The journey then continues to Fayoum, where waterfalls, the Magic Lake and the ancient whale fossils of Wadi El Hitan reveal Egypt’s extraordinary natural history.
The final desert section leads into the White Desert, where wind-shaped rock formations create a surreal landscape. Crystal Mountain, the volcanic scenery of the Black Desert and a stop at Bahariya Oasis complete the adventure before the return to Cairo.
Accommodation is arranged in selected 4-star hotels or equivalent properties and standard desert camps, combining comfort with authentic overnight experiences beneath the desert sky.
