Travel west from Alexandria toward Siwa Oasis, crossing Egypt's north-western desert corridor. A stop in Marsa Matrouh breaks the route before continuing inland toward the oasis.

A second desert night allows more time to experience the atmosphere of the landscape, especially around the changing light of late afternoon and sunset.

Leave the White Desert and begin the return to Cairo. Along the route, pass through Crystal Mountain and the Black Desert, with a lunch stop in Bahariya Oasis.
